Phrase of the Day 69: 'a bit dodgy'

"it's a bit dodgy!"

In England almost anything can be a bit dodgy!

definition of dodgy - if something is a bit dodgy, you shouldn't trust it. Dodgy food should be thrown away at home, or sent back in a restaurant. Dodgy people should be avoided and definitely not trusted. You never know what they are going to do. Dodgy goods/products may have been stolen. Some area of the city can be a bit dodgy and should be avoided, especially at night!

(prohnaný, pochybný, riskantní, ošemetný, prekérní, špatný, nemocný)

examples:

"Walking along Konevova street at night can be a bit dodgy"

"I'm not gonna buy that mobile phone from the market; it's dodgy"

"I feel ill today; I think I had a dodgy burger last night"
