Phrase of the Day 86: 'face the music'

"to face the music"

definition: to accept the unpleasant consequences, especially of your own actions

(postavit se, celit kritice, sníst si)

examples: "It's time to face the music, and accept your chocolate addiction."

"You should tell Nick about you affair now, go home and face the music"

Comes from the British military. When someone was court marshaled, there would be a military drum squad playing, hence face the music. The term drummed out of the military came from this practice.
