AAE Q66: 'dawg'

Hi,

Please, what does "dawg " mean?

I didn´t find any translation of this one so I suppose it may be a slang expression ( hope it isn´t derogatory ).

Dawg (US, colloquial for dog)

• it is a way of addressing a friend, an acquaintance: "Whats up Dawg!" or "yo dawg that was awesome".
• as it is another way of saying "dog" it can also be used as an insult, particularly to a woman: "Daaamn, she is a dawg!"
