What is the meaning of "BODIES"?

Hi,

A body can be defined as: "a group of individuals organized for some purpose".

Therefore a regulatory body is an organisation whose job it is to regulate the industries within a country.

For example: "The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is the regulatory body that provides consumer protection in franchise operations."
